Riders Lodge hotel is a good hotel away from the busy bustling city life and at walking distance to few nice restaurants. I really enjoyed staying at Riders' Lodge hotel, the location is unique for Singapore and a Singaporean like me. I will choose this hotel again and will come back for another stay and will definitely recommend Rider's Lodge to my friend.

For birdwatching, I'd definitely recommend Sungei Buloh. They have guided tours (free, I think) early in the morning and it's great to go there with a guide because you learn so much more.... I did that twice - once on my own and once with the guide and it was so much better with the guide because he had a telescope and could tell us the names of all the different birds, just by their calls and then show us where they were.
